Our Story

Two Friends, One Code

San Diego, California

The Foundation

Since middle school

We're Jacob and Patrick. We've been best friends since middle school — not the kind who drift apart and reconnect, the kind who never left. High school, the young-adult years, jobs, all of it. We've hiked Mt. Woodson more times than we can count, fished half of San Diego County, and spent over a year sweating on the same hard-labor event crew. Twenty-some years in, we're still showing up for each other. That's the foundation this company stands on.

Who We Are

Built between shifts

Jacob

Family man first — three kids, and nothing ranks above being a good father to them. After that, he's wired the way this whole brand is wired: learn the skill, do the work, build something that lasts. He works long, hard days — the kind of schedule that costs you something — because that's what building a life actually takes. Life has a way of teaching you how to get things done right, if you're paying attention. He's always working on something, always learning the next thing. Not every project turns into an empire, and that was never the point. The point is to keep learning, keep building things that work, and keep showing up.

Patrick

A serviceman now, but he earned his way there the long way. He started out working for the man like everyone else and never stopped pushing — better skills, better jobs, every step earned. That climb took him into government work in San Diego, and eventually into the U.S. Navy, where he serves today. He's got bigger goals still ahead of him. Bet on him to reach them. And ask the kids in his life who shows up for them — they'll tell you.

2023

It started with a simple problem

We've always been early risers — full-time jobs, brutal hours, one of us up at three in the morning, the other coming off graveyard. The workouts got squeezed into the late afternoons, meeting up to put in the work before getting back to the grind. And we kept running into the same wall: the stuff we wanted, done the way we wanted it, didn't seem to exist. Clean, simple, trustworthy — no mile-long ingredient lists, toxic dyes, or ruined seams. The hardest thing to find was a bar worth trusting, so that's where we started: we made our own. That's the habit under everything here — when you can't find it done right, you build it yourself. Then came the thought that built the company: other people are looking for this too. It's never gotten more complicated than that. Keep it simple. Keep it clean. Make it work.

The Road Ahead

More than a wrapper

Somewhere along the way, we figured out the bar was never the whole idea. The whole idea is the code — do it right, do it well, put in the work — and we want that idea to live on more than a wrapper.

So we set out building something that can carry it — gear that works as hard as you do: comfortable enough to live in, tough enough to work in. Along with stickers, patches, and more, for the lighter side. If it wears the mark, it holds the standard.

Our People

The people behind us

Behind these two friends is a whole circle of people who make the work possible. For Jacob, that's Rebeca — holding down the house through all the chaos and always jumping into the kitchen for batches or taste tests. For Patrick, it's family and friends who've always had his back. The people who believe in you, give it to you straight, and let you chase the hard thing — we don't take a second of it for granted. You build it yourself, but you don't build it by yourself. Built not given, but never built alone.

Start hard today, be harder than yesterday, for today is yesterday’s tomorrow.
